Teaching methods used by primary school teachers in the municipality of Qeminis in light of some variables (field study)

Abstract

    The aim of this study was to identify the teaching methods used by primary school teachers, determine the most appropriate teaching methods for the primary education stage from the teachers' perspectives, and verify the existence of differences between sample responses attributable to variables (academic qualification, experience, and specialization). The research used the descriptive approach and the research tool was the questionnaire that was designed based on previous studies and theoretical literature. The questionnaire was applied to a random sample of (90) male and female teachers from basic education schools in the Qaminis region. The study yielded the following results:

• Primary education teachers use traditional teaching methods along with modern methods except for the lecture method, the flipped classroom method, and e-learning.
• The most prominent methods used by teachers in teaching are questions, discussion, indoctrination, reliance on the textbook, and brainstorming.
• There is no significant difference between primary education teachers in the Qaminis region attributed to the variables (gender/educational qualification/years of experience) regarding the teaching methods used by primary education teachers in the Qaminis region.

The research recommended the following:

- Using modern teaching methods that are in line with the spirit of the times and technological advancements.

- Training teachers to use these teaching methods at the beginning of their service, during their internship, and on an ongoing basis.

- Sharing experiences among teachers through various workshops
