Digital Archiving and Long-Term Preservation Policy

The BUCPS Conference Proceedings Series is committed to the long-term digital preservation of its published scientific content, ensuring continued access and recoverability even in the event of platform unavailability or data loss.

Preservation Mechanisms:

  1. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN): All issues and articles are automatically archived through the PKP PN system, fully integrated with the OJS platform. This system leverages LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) technology, creating a decentralized network of distributed copies among participating libraries worldwide, thus ensuring permanent protection and uninterrupted access.
  2. Persistent DOIs: Each article is assigned a persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) via CrossRef to guarantee stable and citable links, even if the article's URL changes.
  3. Regular Backups: Routine backups of the database and all published issues are performed on secure servers and external storage media.
  4. Disclaimer: In the event of unavailability of the main platform, users may retrieve content through the PKP PN network or by contacting the journal administration for archived copies.
